How to create the feather brow trend

Eyebrows have always been an important part of any makeup look.  You can tell what era looks are done in simply by the shape and texture of the brows. Brows frame your face you can change the whole look of your makeup by changing your brow shape. When I first became a makeup artist there were no specific brow products and even if there where they were the wrong colour and texture for the looks I was trying to create. I used a matte shadow and an angled brush which I still use today on some clients and shoots.

Eyebrow trends have come and gone some I have been a fan of and some not so much! I love the fuller feather looked brow that is really on-trend at the moment. It goes with any look and as we have all been at home growing our brows now is the perfect time to create the feather brow look!

Unlike before there are so many great brow products on the market. Here is my step by step guide to creating the feathered brow trend. It’s so easy!

I am going to use a brow pencil that has a thin tip and a waxy like finish. Do not use an eye pencil! Go for a colour that is as near to your brow colour as you can get or slightly darker if you can’t get an exact match.

Step 1. Brush your eyebrows upwards so you can see your natural shape and where you need to fill in the hair.

Step 2. I normally put a light dusting of translucent powder to prep and soak up any oils on the skin. It also helps the pencil to stay on and adhere to the brow hairs.

Step 3. Use your brow pencil to draw tiny hair-like strokes into any areas you want to add definition and fill out. Start at the arch and work your way along the tail of your brow then move to the front of your brow and add definition using feather-like strokes.

Step 4.  Once you are happy with your shape you can use a brow gel or soap to set your brows. This will also diffuse some of the pigment to soften and blend your look. You can leave like this for a natural look or go back in and add more of the pencil to add more definition. Still adding thin like feather lines to keep the brow feathered.

Some of my brow kit essentials: MAC clear brow gel £16.50, Eyebrows Styler £16.50 Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer £24, Benefit precisely my brow £22.50
